ICAI – The Indian Accounting Regulator – Partner in Nation Building.
The The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (Act No. XXXVIII of 1949) for the regulation of the profession of Chartered Accountants in India. During its nearly six decades of existence, ICAI has achieved recognition as a premier accounting body not only in the country but also globally, for its accounting, auditing and ethical standards. ICAI now is the second largest accounting body in the world and is regarded as the backbone of Indian Financial System.
Our Southern India Regional Council is celebrating it’s 60th YearABOUT HUBLI BRANCH OF ICAI
Hubli branch of SIRC OF ICAI established on 16th September 1985 and it was inaugurated on 29th December 1985 by the then President of the Institute, Shri P. A. Nair, in the beginning presence of H. H. Jagadguru Shri Gangadhar Rajayogendra Mahaswamiji of Moorusavirmath, Hubli.
Ever Since its inception, the Branch has be en strengthening the hands of the Institute in achieving its noble objective of “Enhancing the Value of Profession”. The branch keeps its members abreast of latest professional and technological developments in such of the areas, where a member is expected to perform his attest functions by conducting series of Seminars, Group discussions, Study Circle Meetings, etc. at National, Regional, Sub–Regional, State and Branch levels.
In its very short span of 26 years of existence the Branch has many laudable achievements and as a result enjoys an enviable position. It enjoys the reputation of having invited many Luminaries and Celebrities in the field of Taxation, Auditing, Company Law, Financial Services, Computer Application, Professional Ethics, Code of Conduct, Accounting Standards, Auditing Practices, IFRS, DTC, GST, Information Technology, XBRL, Intellectual Property, etc. Organising at least one major annual conference, Continuing Professional Education Program in each year has become the target of every Managing Committee of the branch, without any exception.
12th February, 2003 was the red letter day in the history of Hubli Branch. That was the day when our branch moved to its own building as U.S.A. Centre, Coen Road, Hubli.
Further on 26th January 2010, the Branch was again moved to a very spacious premises. Groundfloor of the same was inaugurated by the then President CA Uttam Prakash Agarwal and recently on 6th February, 2011 1st Floor of the Branch was inaugurated by the then President CA Amarjit Chopra and a spacious Library was inaugurated by the then Vice–President, now President CA G. Ramaswamy.
